John Bonta

John Bonta has been a member of New York’s post production community for more than 20 years and has a resume that encompasses work in commercials, music videos, episodic television and features. The breadth of his experience gives him an unusually well rounded perspective on his craft. The ability to communicate well with other artists of varying backgrounds and aesthetics, and different approaches to the work, according to Bonta, is a colorist’s most valuable skill. Since joining Company 3, Bonta has worked on an eclectic array of commercials and episodic television shows (“Mad Men,” “Sex and the City”) as well as feature work for such prominent directors as Tony Scott, Nancy Meyers, James L. Brooks and the team Gordon/Speck. More recently, Bonta has devoted much of his time to feature work, including collaborations with such eminent cinematographers as John Toll, Janusz Kaminski and Tobias Schliessler.
Bonta began his career with EUE/ScreenGems and got involved in post production through Editel. He was a mainstay on the staff of Manhattan Transfer for many years, specializing in commercials.
